Q&A to following this screening with Soska sisters and Katharine Isabelle.”
Every Women In Horror Recognition Month, we encourage people and horror fans out there to be every bit as brave as the heroines we’ve come to know and love in front of and behind the camera with our Massive Blood Drive, a world wide event. You can’t think horror without thinking blood. We are in dire need of donors world wide. Every 3 seconds in the USA alone, blood is needed. There is no substitute for blood. Many people rely on blood donations just to live. There has been a decrease in donors and the need for blood and donations grows every year. Please give the gift that saves lives. Each donation can save up to three lives. After all, it’s in you to give.
Please enjoy! And please be brave and donate. The number of donors has steadily been decreasing and someone needs blood every three seconds. Take on the little prick and be a hero to someone.

“With apologies to Rocky Horror, the year’s Whistler Film festival has its own late-night double feature.
Vancouver-based twin sisters and writing-directing partners Jen and Sylvia Soska are opening the festival’s midnight madness program Nov. 28 with their new horror movie American Mary.
I visited the self-styled Twisted Twins onset more than a year ago when they filmed the movie, which stars local cult-indie fave Katharine Isabelle (Ginger Snaps, Insomnia) as a disillusioned med student who finds work in a bizarre underground fetish scene, doing body-modification surgeries.
Also in the movie’s corner is B.C. make-up wizard Todd Masters (True Blood, Twilight: New Moon), so there will be blood and strange prostheses.
Since they wrapped, the movie has drawn raves at genre festivals in the U.S. and around the world, but Whistler will mark the movie’s home-province debut.”

Come watch the flick with Jen, me, Katharine Isabelle, Paula Lindberg, Antonio Cupo, Todd Masters, and Brian Pearson for her LA premiere screening!
Saturday, October 13, 2012 - 9:30pm
Starring Katharine Isabelle (GINGER SNAPS), AMERICAN MARY follows medical student Mary Mason as she becomes increasingly broke and disenchanted. The allure of easy money sends Mary into the twilight world of body modification and underground surgeries where obsessed flesh artists will pay anything and go through any pain to get their unusual procedures done. But Mary soon finds that her new ‘profession’ leaves more marks on her own psyche than on her freakish clientele.
Call your cool friends, make the 13th an even luckier night than usual, and meet you in the darkened theatre for a bloody good time. A huge thanks to everyone who has been supporting the film to get her to this point.
Looking forward to seeing your pretty faces in LA!!
