Happy Women In Horror Recognition Month, ladies and gentlemen. This week is Canadian talent and today’s lady is one of my favourite artists in the industry that I have had the extreme pleasure of not only working with on American Mary, but she’s also the designing genius behind my Black Cat Comic Con shiny black suit and all the super-heroine-esque frocks we wear to every event.
“There are artists who absolutely blow me away with their ability. From the moment I met Jayne Mabbott of Enigma Arcana, we were floored. I have no ability to do anything with fabrics. It’s nothing short of a miracle that I can do laundry. To see the breath taking works of art this woman is capable of creating leaves me in awe.” -Jen Soska
“On the second Sunday of each month (Sunday February 10th, Sunday March 10th, etc) from 11am-4pm: Artech Gallery hosts a market showcasing local artists, designers, musicians & small business owners - ADMISSION IS FREE!!! Come and browse, shop, meet the locals.
Affordable handcrafted jewellery, unique gifts, vegan botanical cosmetics & supplements, wild organic food & raw vegan treats, art, home accessories & live music
Here is the line-up of vendors & the dates they will be at the sale. Every month will have a slightly different rotation of vendors so this list will be updated as and when vendors are confirmed. Please check back regularly in case there is something you don’t want to miss out on!”
Featuring some amazing artists, including the FUCKING PHENOMENAL, Enigma Arcana, responsible for the hotness of the American Mary wardrobe and the super-heroine frocks Jen and I were for different events. Seriously, don’t miss out - guaranteed to have the perfect thing for you or a loved one. Cannot recommend highly enough!
Jen and I have our bags packed, our new Enigma Arcana dresses ready to go, and our arms ready to hug the living fuck out of everyone. I feel so lucky to have this opportunity to come over to the UK for the Film4 FrightFest presented American Mary theatrical tour before the big Universal Pictures UK DVD/BluRay release. Thank you to everyone who is coming out, forcing friends to come out, and getting the word out.

“AMERICAN MARY - dir. Jen Soska, Sylvia Soska (Soska Twins) Body modification. Sexually Psychotic Surgeons. Revenge. Horrifying. Original. And oh, so très, très cool.
BEST HORROR FILM: AMERICAN MARY - dir. Jen Soska, Sylvia Soska (Soska Twins)
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Tristan Risk - AMERICAN MARY
Jen and I cannot wait to wear our new killer Enigma Arcana designs to the American Mary UK theatrical screenings. Machine Gun Red, perfect for painting towns red and such with bloody good times.
With a tagline like ‘Appearances Are Everything’ - everything about AMERICAN MARY had an huge emphasis on look and presentation. One of the biggest points to hit was our Mary Mason to give her an iconic look, that 1950s glam with surgically stunning attire. Scream Siren Magazine goes into the look of Katharine Isabelle as stunning Mary Mason from makeup to Enigma Arcana’s genius wardrobe in their new issue’s ‘Beyond the Screen’ style section.
”Horror Style Culture. Our mission is to focus on Independent and Foreign Horror films, women in the horror industry, events, edgy artists, killer style and “diy to die for”. We are the essential go-to source for all things horror and culture for women across this zombie infested planet. 10% of each print issue sold will be donated to charities that help women survive and succeed.”
New labcoatdressy made by the ridiculously talented Enigma Arcana for our Monster Fest Australian Premiere Screening of American Mary. It’s going to be a hell of a screening, plus you really ought to see this beautiful dress in real life.
Jen and I had a lovely fitting with Enigma Arcana this afternoon for our sexy Monster Fest garbs - first time we and American Mary have been to Australia - gotta pull out all the stops. Also, medical apparel never looked so good.
